- Map Reading: Understanding topographic maps, symbols, and scales. Improving on fundamental skills.
- Compass Fundamentals: Learning how to use a compass for accurate direction.
- Terrain Interpretation: Identifying terrain features and contour lines.
- Route Planning: Creating and following routes for various outdoor activities.
- Practical Exercises: Applying navigation skills in the field.

- Topographic Maps: OS 1:25,000 / OS 1:50,000 / Harvey 1:25,000 (Feel free to bring your own )
- Compass: A reliable compass for precise direction. (Feel free to bring your own )
Personal kit (Not provided)
- Appropriate Clothing: Weather-appropriate gear for outdoor practical sessions.
- Backpack: Carrying your equipment comfortably. 15l – 35l rucksack would suffice.
- Water and Snacks: Staying hydrated and energised.
- Hiking Boots: Providing support and traction while hiking.
- Notepad and Pencil: Taking notes.
